We're so excited to be part of your wedding day!

Now that your date is officially locked in, it's time for you to enjoy this exciting time of planning.
At this stage, there's not too much we need from you, but we're always here if you have any questions or need advice along the way.

Around three months before your wedding, we'll be in touch to start putting together your personalised timeline for the day.
We'll send you a detailed questionnaire that covers everything we need to know—from your preparation locations and key contact details through to family photo lists, any important family dynamics we should be aware of, and your favourite songs for your film.

We'll also provide a recommended hair and makeup finishing time to help ensure everything runs smoothly and leaves plenty of time for relaxed, beautiful photos.
If your hair or makeup artist needs this information earlier, just let us know, we're more than happy to help.

A Few Things to Consider While Planning

One of the biggest factors when planning your wedding timeline is the time of year you're getting married, as this determines how much natural daylight you'll have after your ceremony.

Winter Weddings
With the sun setting earlier, we generally recommend an earlier ceremony time (around 2:00pm)
This allows plenty of time for your portraits without feeling rushed and means you can still enjoy cocktail hour with your guests while we capture all those beautiful candid moments.
There is always the option to do a first look + bridal party and couple photos before the ceremony if this is your preference.

Summer & Daylight Savings NSW
During the warmer months and daylight savings, we usually suggest a later ceremony (around 4:00pm)
You'll have plenty of daylight for photos, the afternoon temperatures will begin to cool and sunset will usually be during your reception, so we can factor in ducking out for that!

One thing we always love to prioritise is mingle time.
Your wedding day isn't just about taking photos—it's about celebrating with the people you love.
We build your timeline to give you plenty of opportunities to soak it all in, spend time with your guests, and enjoy every moment without feeling dictated by your schedule.

Don’t overthink it
"We're going to be so awkward in photos."
We feel you but trust us, you won’t!
Being in front of a camera doesn't come naturally to most people and that's completely normal.
You don't need to know how to pose or worry about what to do with your hands, that's our job :)
We'll guide you as much (or as little) as you need, keeping everything relaxed, fun and natural.
We'll have a laugh, capture the real moments between you two, and before you know it you'll be back to the party wondering what you were freaking out about in the first place.

Weather
The weather is unfortunately one thing none of us can control (an Etsy witch can try!), so the best approach is to embrace it and be flexible.
We always keep a close eye on the forecast on the day, if needed, we'll work with you (and your other vendors) to shuffle the timeline around.
This might mean bringing your portraits forward, waiting for a break in the rain, or moving a few things around on the run sheet to make the most of the conditions.
We highly recommend having some clear umbrellas on hand, just in case. They obviously keep you dry and they photograph nicely and let plenty of natural light through, better than a Bunnings brolly.

A few other tips for now -

  • Keep your getting-ready space tidy. A room with plenty of natural light and minimal clutter makes for beautiful photos

  • Opt to get ready on site if possible. That way you have less logistics and don’t have to travel from A to B in your wedding dress / suits

  • Have all your details together so when we arrive (you may be in hair + makeup) we can start these shots - Rings, invitations, perfume, jewellery, shoes, veil and any other special details

  • Allow extra travel time. Have a buffer between locations, it's much nicer to arrive early or relax and have a drink before you leave - rather than feeling rushed

  • Think about your ceremony location, we always recommend an outdoor ceremony. Ask your celebrant about the direction you'll be standing and if you’ll be in the shade and comfortable so you can be fully present

  • Assign family photo helpers. Choose someone who knows your families well to help gather people for family photos. It saves time and keeps everything running smoothly

  • Consider your MC offering your guests the ‘Irish Exit’ - This means guests can leave without saying goodbye - that way you’re not interrupted while you’re on the dance floor living your best life

  • Consider doing a first look. If spending more time together and with your guests is important, a first look can make the day feel much more relaxed while still keeping the emotion and excitement
